Getting a Library Card:
- Bring in a valid ID or utility bill with your mailing and physical address.
- Agree to our rules and regulations regarding materials and internet usage. (see below)
- There is no fee for an SFL library card – if you want us as your home library – fill out the application and welcome aboard!
Borrowing Limitations:
- DVDs are limited to three per card for all Southern Adirondack Library System libraries and may be taken out for one week with one renewal available.
- New and Popular Books may be held for three days and taken home for two weeks with no renewals.
- Standard books will be held for up two weeks and may be taken home for three weeks with two renewals.
- Magazines may be taken out for one week with one renewal available.
Internet Usage:
- All patrons must have an internet usage agreement on file with the library.
- We ask that you refrain from visiting explicit sites as the majority of our patrons object to such content.
Donation Acceptance:
- All items donated to the library are generally accepted if storage space provides. Although not all donations will be added to the collection, they all help out! The Friends of the SFL hold a book sale and many donations go to that cause. Items which are not added to the collection, or sold in the book sale, will find a home with other local charities such as elder care, community centers, etc.
Building Use:
- All library card holders wishing to use the library for a function or event must complete a building Use Request Form. these are available in the library itself and you will be notified if the use is approved. Tiny buildings are hard to share – but we will try to accommodate everyone with a need!
