Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi
Posted by Sara on July 16th, 2008
With a radical feminist criticism of Islam, this novel offers a disturbing view of the modern world - and inspired every critic who read it.
From Barnes and Noble: “In this profoundly affecting memoir from the internationally renowned author of The Caged Virgin, Ayaan Hirsi Ali tells her astonishing life story, from her traditional Muslim childhood in Somalia, Saudi Arabia, and Kenya, to her intellectual awakening and activism in the Netherlands, and her current life under armed guard in the West.”
Book Discussion: Tuesday, August 19th @ 6:30 pm.

Don’t be intimidated by the cover and title of this month’s selection!
This autobiography is engaging from page one (and anyone who knows me knows I rarely connect with a book in the early pages) and is easy to read (no fancy degree required).
I predict this may be one of the best selections of the year for the Book Group and I hope a few new people take the plunge and come to the discussion. Ask Sara and Michele - we have a fine and lively chat that is nothing like high school English class.
